BACKGROUND
Born in Nova Scotia, Virginia has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mount Allison University (English Literature) and a Master’s degree from Dalhousie University (Library Science). She has lived in Yarmouth since 1979 and has come to love the rugged and handsome landscapes, riverscapes and seascapes of southwestern Nova Scotia.
Virginia worked at the Western Counties Regional Library for 34 years, retiring as deputy regional director in 2004.
Since her retirement, she has enjoyed devoting more time to the arts. In particular, learning from Cecil Day how to take drawings further through different etching techniques gives on-going pleasure.
